The most recent progress is ... almost not visible. Correct! But something HAS happened!
I was already infomrmed about an InernetExplorer layout bug. But to be honest, I did not yet want to care about it and fix it later because I already assumed that fixing the bug would be a nasty battle with CSS- and HTML-stuff together with some IE and Firefox oddities. So I preferred adding some content to the site. Well - okay, I logged in, hit "edit" - and realized that IE was not the only browser having a problem. Well okay. So better fix the layout at once.
After a while in the little CSS file, I was asking myself if it had really been such a good idea to use MediaWiki's default style monobook as a template for myown skin. But as I didn't have a look at other skins, it's quite possible that it wouldn't have been better with any other skin.
Well, editing an unknown CSS construct isn't a really nice job (that's the reason why I didn't do it at once :)) but Firebug made it a bit better as it allows editing CSS properties without even leaving the browser and without refreshing the page. IE DeveloperToolbar was a bit disappointing in that point as it only shows CSS properties read only (or I didn't find out, how to edit). Nevertheless, the question "what on earth was SO bad with plain old table-layout" came into my minde quite sometimes.
Well, the end of the story: I didn't add any content at all, but at least, Firefox and IE(7) should now display the page without layout bugs. If you still see some oddities, please tell me!!!
